ROGER CUMMINGS

Roger is Co-founder of Juxtaposition Arts, a hybrid youth arts, community development, youth social enterprise that is building the social, human, and cultural capital of a neighborhood and city while strengthening its physical and economic development. His theory is that in aging mid-size urban cities, where joblessness, high crime, and other misery index statistics dominate the headlines, youth engagement in arts and culture can be a catalyst to turn things around—bolstering the quality of its core building stock, providing breathing room for expanding small business, opening up new education and employment options, and attracting urban artists and entrepreneurs. Roger was a Loeb Fellow at Harvard University Graduate School of Design in 2009. He was hired to design three light rail stations in the Metro area.
